This project is a relatively new effort by guitarist Christopher Freeman, bassist J Ronquillo and drummer Danny Kimosh that draws much of its influence from modern composers as well as ancient contemplative traditions. The band’s style falls more on the heavy side of the Post-Rock spectrum with an expressed desire to provide thoughtful music for thoughtful people.

Khalid Hanifi’s music has recently been featured in such places as the NBC show “Mercy,” and the PRX radio documentary “Finding Our Bootstraps: Americans Deal With Recession.” But Khalid’s career otherwise spans over two decades. After a brief stint with Atlantic Records as part of the band Map of the World ending in 1990, Khalid has gleefully pursued the indie route, first with the acts “Kiss Me Screaming” and “Maypops”, and more recently as a solo artist, with his first release “Pamplemousse Presse” in 2008. After a lengthy and diverse career both inside and outside the mainstream industry, Khalid’s only remaining challenges are to help the world understand that his name is not “Colin” and that he is a pop singer/songwriter a la Warren Zevon or Elvis Costello, not an Arab Hip Hop star.
